Steve grew up in Chicago, Il, attended college at John Carrol University, Cleveland Ohio, graduated with the class of 1966.
Drafted in August of 1967, Ft Leonard Wood for basic, then on to Ft Ben Harrison for an MOS of Military Journalism, radio, TV, print. In April of 1968 he was assigned to the 25th Division at Ch Chi, (about 20 miles northwest of Saigon,) RVN, as Editor for Tropic Lightning News.

Married to Barbara and they have 3 sons, all productive citizens, living in SF, Camden, ME and Austin TX and, two grandchildren
Steve worked for 3 companies since 1969 in Team Sales/Marketing for steel products, mostly tubular for oil, gas production/distribution, industrial construction areas.
His own business, Lochenphoto.com, was an event photography business, launched in 1990 through 2010, photographing local weddings, bar mitzvas, etc. He retired in 2012, currently makes his home in Scottsdale, Arizona since early 2019.
