Phil returned to Minnesota and continued my education, achieving an associate’s degree in business management in 1986. After graduation, he began work in the accounting office at Lifetouch Portrait Studios, collecting sales data from over 400 locations.

Re-enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserve at Fort Snelling, MN as a Finance Specialist in 1988, working in the Office of Resource Management with the 88th Army Reserve Command (ARCOM) until 1994.

Following his parents – whom had been living in southern California since 1986 – he moved to Paso Robles in 1995 and began my 25-year career with Ennis, Inc. (a nationwide print manufacturer based Texas) in 1996. Many hats were worn at the Paso Robles plant over the years including customer service, data collection and analysis, process improvement, purchasing agent, and safety director.

As a veteran, he always valued the Estrella Warbirds Museum and its place in our community. Phil first visited back when the only structure was Hanger 1. Over the years, made several additional visits, but never as often as he would have liked. When the Ennis plant closed in 2021, he started thinking about how he could occupy some of his extra free time. Volunteering as a Docent was a no-brainer.

Phil noted that his "fondness for the Estrella Warbirds Museum continues to grow. The staff and volunteers here are outstanding! As one of many dedicated Docents, I get to talk with visitors from around the world. The best part is hearing from them how much they love what we have here. I humbly thank them for their kind words, always acknowledging the folks who came before me. I thank the board for allowing me to contribute my efforts toward EWM’s continued success."
