History

You will find an ever growing collection of ordnance at Estrella WarBirds Museum. We are proud to be the home for a collection of munitions which is located in the Brooks Building. Although the ordnance is inert and much is obsolete, we feel it is important to preserve these unique artifacts of history and share it with the generations to come.

Estrella Warbird Museum is home to a collection of rare and vintage micro and macro artifacts that are donated or loaned from individuals and military institutions. We are very fortunate, that a local individual, John Kenny, of Santa Maria, an avid munitions collector for most of his life, was generous to share his passion in preserving these collectables.

Here is a wide variety of ordnance including projectiles weighing mere ounces to several tons, torpedoes, anti-aircraft guns, small arms and cannons. Various type of ordnance in on display, whether fired from the barrel of a weapon, dropped from the air, or having traveled through the water, we strive to provide a better understanding and respect for those who were involved in their use in times past, as we preserve and share these unique artifacts of history for generations to come.
