Wine Tasting and Museum Excursion
Guests of The Wine Wrangler, a Central Coast wine tour company, now have the option to learn about history and wine, all on the same day.
Wine and history enthusiasts alike can choose from nine different day-long wine country tours, each offering stops at two wineries and two historical venues along the way. Historical sites include the Estrella WarBirds Museum, Atascadero Historical Society, Cambria Historical Society, Camp Roberts Historical Museum, Mission San Miguel, Paso Robles Historical Society, Paso Robles Pioneer Museum, Rios-Caledonia Adobe, and the Templeton Historical Museum. More than 30 area wineries participate in the tour, some offering barrel samples for visitors to get a taste of what's to come, in addition to tasting current wine releases and learning about the area's past.
Historical Tours are part of a wide range of educational experiences offered exclusively by The Wine Wrangler.
"We decided to offer packages because education is our focus, and we've found that people have varied wine-related interests," said Coy Barnes, who co-owns The Wine Wrangler with his wife, Sarah. "Some people are interested in the farming aspects of wine, while others want to know more about the history that makes our region special. Still others like to learn about the extras that go along with wine, like food and even cigars."
Other packages offered by The Wine Wrangler include wine and food pairing classes, a stop at Boyd's Cigar Lounge, or a visit to the Wine Yard at Steinbeck Vineyards, where guests can learn first-hand how viticultural practices can enhance wine quality. All tours are led by courteous escorts who "know their stuff about wine" and really know their way around the wine country.
The Wine Wrangler specializes in offering high quality wine experiences with a focus on education and excellent customer service. Tours are custom tailored to fit specific guests' tastes, and groups ranging from 2-24 can be accommodated.
