Everybody has a hobby. Most people have a passion. Finding an outlet for those talents is the basis for what makes Estrella Warbird one of the finest aviation museums in California. The museum has grown tremendously during the past many years. It is all because of volunteers and the chance to work with some of the finest people around. If you enjoy people and the stories they bring, you should definitely try being a Docent. If you enjoy tinkering with cars, we have plenty of vehicles in the restoration line. You don't need to be a pilot, just a love for aviation and the people associated with it. Most of the facilities and many of the planes were brought back to pristine restoration by a dedicated group of volunteers. It is not just planes being restored. There are vehicles, facilities which need maintaining, floors to sweep, grass to cut, planes to wash, dispays to build, lightbulbs to change, dust to remove, letters to write, windows to wash, libraries of books to catagorize, software to install, phone lines to fix, meals to cook, dishes to wash, walls to paint and even toilets to clean. Don't think you have talent? There is something for everone. We have over 300 members. You are bound to find someone with the same interests as you to work alongside. Got a couple of extra hours each month with nothing to do? Try volunteerng your abilities. It's amazing what one can learn when you have a good attitude.  It takes a team to make it all happen. A team of volunteers - regular people who work every day jobs or are retired and looking for some place to stay creative. |
