Estrella Warbird Museum
Scholarship Winners 2009 Estrella Warbirds Museum is pleased to present a scholarship award to two fine young men from the local community, who have demonstrated the desire and aptitude to further their education in the field of aviation. Criteria for the scholarship was based on the student’s interest in the aviation field, community involvement, outside activities, academic achievement and personal character based upon references. The first recipient is Paso Robles High School senior, Alex Bonnifield. Alex will be attending Sacramento State College in the fall, majoring in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He will also be part of the Air Force ROTC program. Alex, a fifth generation Paso Roblan, is the son of James and Clare Bonnifield of San Miguel. After graduation from college, Alex plans to become an Air Force Fighter Pilot, following in the steps of his grandfather, a 27-year-veteran of the US Air Force. The second recipient is Scott Parks, who will be a sophomore at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. Scott is the son of Jeffrey and Cheryl Parks of Templeton. Scott graduated from Templeton High School in 2008, and was the first recipient of the Estrella Warbirds Museum scholarship award last year. Scott will continue his studies at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the fall, with a course of study in Aerospace Engineering, and a goal of achieving a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering. |
