In the early 1950's, Ed served as an NCO Infantry Squad Leader in the 10th Mountain Division on the East German border. His background includes positions as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Gould Instrument Systems Inc. and Datricon Corp. as well as Managing Director of Tektronix UK, Ltd.
Subsequent to his retirement from the private sector, he was employed by two contract consulting firms with funding from the United State Agency of Industrial Development, where he served as Country Director for these two firms in Guatemala, The Republic of Georgia and Russia. Seventeen years of his working life was spent in residence outside of the United States.
