Charmaine Peckinpaugh

Historical & Research Librarian

Charmaine was born in North Hollywood, California and at the ripe old age of 6 months, was was already under a movie contract as the baby in the OUR GANG movie series.

She moved to Alameda when her father was designated a foreman on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge.

Charmaine continued her education and graduated with honors from Delta College, attended San Jose State, University of California - Santa Barbara and University Of The Pacific, in Stockton. She worked as a substitute teacher for Lincoln Unified School District and later became a Assistant Librarian. Later she was asked by the Principal at the High School to develop a Multimedia Center and soon established the first Multimedia / Library system in any High School in California.

Charmaine taught at the High School for ten years and transferred as Supervisor for Substitute Services for fifteen years in the Administration Office. 

After twenty-five years with LUSD, she retired and five years ago, she and her husband, Don, moved to almost paradise, Paso Robles.

Charmaine was previously a member of the Board of Directors of Estrella Warbird Museum, serves as as Docent with the museum, and assists in organized tours of the museum.

She and husband, Don, established a Historical / Research Library, (opened in April '08 ) which will be for the members of the Estrella Warbird Museum.   

Charmaine and Don have been married for fifty-six years, have two daughters, one son-in-law, one granddaughter, one grandson and one great-grand daughter.
